Sexual Health Education
RSYP provides comprehensive sexual health education in local high schools that focuses on preventing risky sexual behaviors, unhealthy relationships and unintended teen pregnancies. The initiative has trained youth and adults as Sexual Health Educators, and taught nearly every current student at Monument Mountain Regional High School over the past four years. Our team has also been trained to teach parents how to talk to their children about sex and sexuality, and previously faciliated a Sexual Health Awareness Group at Simon’s Rock and classes at Mt. Everett Regional High School.
In 2013, we received funding from the Berkshire United Way to integrate Get Real, a comprehensive, primary prevention, evidence-based sexuality/relationship health curriculum into the permanent requirements for every student in the Berkshire Hills Regional School District. All of our staff receive training through Planned Parenthood to be able to provide the most up to date and relevant sexual health education to students.
