Great Barrington, MA - Railroad Street Youth Project (RSYP), the dynamic youth empowerment organization that advocates for and invests in young people throughout southern Berkshire County, is pleased to announce that the 413 Youth Conference (formerly 411 in the 413) will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at MASS MoCA in North Adams.
This annual countywide event brings together high school students from across the Berkshires for a day of connection, workshops, and fun. The conference is organized by member organizations of the Berkshire Youth Development Project (BYDP) including RSYP, Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (nbCC), and the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center.
Rebranded in 2022 based on input from participants, the conference is completely planned and facilitated by youth interns under the guidance of adult staff and in collaboration with volunteer workshop leaders from the community. As the theme of this year's conference is "The Art of Life in the Berkshires," it will feature workshops on various forms of creative expression like dance, music, poetry, and painting as well as life skills including college applications, adulting, and harm reduction.
"I felt energized after the conference,” said one of last year’s young participants. “I wish it could have lasted longer so I could learn and engage with people from across the county even more."
