PAINTBALL- ROUND 2!!!

June 2nd, 2010

Due to the overwhelming response to the April vacation paintball trip,  we will be rounding up the team and hitting the course for another action packed day!

Join us on Wednesday, August 18th as we venture to Ancram, NY to visit the Hornet’s Nest.   The Hornet’s Nest is a premier paintballing facility.  It consists of 99 acres that are divided up into multiple courses of different natures.

There is a castle on a hill that can be stormed by a seperate team.  There is a ghost-town in the woods, indoor and outdoor speedball, shooting galleries, and a sniper course.

Don’t miss out on this awesome day-trip.  It will be action packed, team-building, and very exciting.  We will depart RSYP at 10:00am and return by 6:00pm.  If you are interested in joining us, or know someone who would be, please contact Jules Jenssen.  Jules@rsyp.org,  or 413.528.2475

Join us for our Spring Culinary Arts Dinner–with Jazz!

March 27th, 2010

On Monday, April 12 at 6:00pm, The Red Lion Inn will host a culinary arts program dinner NOT TO BE MISSED!  We’ll be celebrating the great city of NEW ORLEANS with a cajun family-style menu, live jazz music, and a raffle drawing that will knock your socks off.  As you know, we have an enthusiastic team of six who will be volunteering with the St. Bernard Project during April vacation to help rebuild homes in the lower ninth ward.  Proceeds from this dinner and raffle will help send local youth on their very first service trip to the great city of NEW ORLEANS!

The cajun dinner will be prepared by students from the prominent Berkshire Culinary Arts Program, which is under the fantastic direction of Red Lion Inn Executive Chef Brian Alberg, BRIX’s Daire Rooney, and John Andrew’s Dan Smith.

A team of youth musicians from Monument Mountain High School Jazz Band, including saxaphonist extraordinnaire Tyler Gasek, will welcome guests with the sounds of great jazz tunes old and new.

Tickets are $100/person, but if you’ve attended a dinner before you qualify for our special spring price of $75.  For parties of 2-4, you can reserve your tickets online using Red Lion Inn’s open table reservation system.

Reservations by phone, call The Red Lion Inn:  413-298-5545.  For special Spring pricing, email lannie@rsyp.org.

Photovoice Project

March 15th, 2010

‘Photovoice’ is a photography project in which participants will take to the streets with camera in hand,  photographing what they perceive as the positive as well as negative aspects of their community. They will then learn how to edit, print, and caption photos that best represent their voice on these subjects.

The project will begin in April with two workshops about composition and camera techniques,  taught by local photographers. The participants will  have one week to take photos, coming back together the last week in April to edit and prepare them for public display.  We will have an exhibit and opening reception in May.  Anyone interested in participating should contact Natalie at natalie@rsyp.org or call 413.528.2475.
