PAINTBALL- ROUND 2!!!

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Due to the overwhelming response to the April vacation paintball trip,  we will be rounding up the team and hitting the course for another action packed day!

Join us on Wednesday, August 18th as we venture to Ancram, NY to visit the Hornet’s Nest.   The Hornet’s Nest is a premier paintballing facility.  It consists of 99 acres that are divided up into multiple courses of different natures.

There is a castle on a hill that can be stormed by a seperate team.  There is a ghost-town in the woods, indoor and outdoor speedball, shooting galleries, and a sniper course.

Don’t miss out on this awesome day-trip.  It will be action packed, team-building, and very exciting.  We will depart RSYP at 10:00am and return by 6:00pm.  If you are interested in joining us, or know someone who would be, please contact Jules Jenssen.  email hidden; JavaScript is required,  or 413.528.2475

Tapestry Health offers office hours in Great Barrington

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Please note that Tapestry Health is back in South Berkshire County!
Mondays at VIM 4:15p-6:15p there is a counselor who can do testing, give out supplies (birth control, emergency contraception), and do intake counseling.  Katrina Mattson is also available for outreach once/month at alternative sites (like RSYP).

More Resources from CHP:
Linda Baxter (at the East Mountain Medical complex) and Lisa Sylvia (who is at the 4th floor) both want to make sure young people know that they are TEEN FRIENDLY!  If anyone wants to have a confidential conversation with either of these women, they should call and ask to speak directly with them or one of their nurses.  Youth could make appointments for “migraines” if they need to see one of them but don’t want to reveal the reason until they are in the room with one of the clinicians.  Linda Baxter is also open to changing her hours, thinking outside the box in order to help serve youth.

Bringing sexuality education to the classroom

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Title: Bringing sexuality education to the classroom
Location: Berkshire South Community Center, Jennifer House
Description: Nov. 24, 2pm-5pm, Berkshire South’s Jennifer House meeting room (next to Barrington Brewery building)
Follow-up training #2, this time the topic will be how to launch a peer education program. We had 6 youth and 17 adults trained in PP’s Sex Educator series this summer, and a teacher or guidance from all three schools–Mt. Everett, Monument and Lee. They are all eager to start incorporating the curriculum in the classroom, and invite our youth educators to begin by coming into the 8-10th grade classrooms. Planned Parenthood facilitator Lesley Kayan will help us get this off the ground.  THIS TRAINING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Start Time: 14:00
Date: 2009-11-24
End Time: 17:00
