A BIG THANK YOU TO BERKSHIRE BANK!

Sunday, October 24th, 2010
The youth, staff and board of Railroad Street Youth Project want to send out a big thank you to the 11 volunteers from Berkshire Bank who spent Oct 20th and 21st helping us  paint our drop-in center/ offices at the Schneider Youth Building in Great Barrington.
We are all grateful for your time and for the care you took in the work.  We could not have achieved this big project in so little time and with so little disruption to our work with young people without you.
Thank you, Berkshire Bank!

Some new trips/ classes

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010
After today’s YOB meeting, we felt the need to tell everyone about all that is happening:
We will take a group to The Beacon Theater in Pittsfield on Oct 21st to see “The Social Network.”
We will be going to see Kid Koala @ Mass MoCA on December 11.   For those of you who aren’t familiar with Koala, or his show at Mass MoCA; here you go.  Turntablist, musician, producer, and artist Eric San, a.k.a. Kid Koala, who has DJ’d alongside the likes of Radiohead, Björk, and DJ Shadow brings a new work-in-progress to the Hunter Center after a week long developmental residency. His newest graphic novel, Kid Koala , (which San says is “about space travel and isolation and interconnectivity”) has an accompanying soundtrack. The live show he is creating around it involves ceiling projections and an entire audience wearing headphones. Lucky MASS MoCA ticket buyers will be the first to experience what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime theater experience.

If you, or anyone you know (age 14-25) is interested in taking a FREE YOGA CLASS, please let us know.

Also, an acting class has been proposed.  A class based on CURRENT THEMES and REAL LIFE has been proposed as a possibility for the winter.  A 9 week class that will culminate in the performance of a piece developed by and for the class.  Please email, or call us if this is appealing to you or someone you know.
We also may go to Six Flags this month too. Let us know if you or someone you know is interested!
The Ableton Live, electronic music production course will be starting again soon.  Details coming soon!
