On Thursday Decmeber 10, RSYP brought a group to attend a briefing hosted by the Dept. of Public Information. The subject of th briefing was Corruption, and how it affects democracy, increases poverty, diminishes opportunities for underprivileged people, and completely counteracts the positive work done by politicians and people in power.

After the corruption briefing, we then attended a planning meeting about the 2010 International Day of Peace (IDP). RSYP has supported IDP for over 5 years, whether creating hometown events to promote the day, or bringing youth down to the UN for the IDP youth summit, we have always believed in the message of IDP and are proud to promote the message. We are very excited that we are now able to be involved with the planning of the event from the beginning. The ability to give input on the issues that we are opinionated about is an empowerment opportunity unlike any other!
